Life is good...

Life. It is so unpredictable sometimes. It's funny how things can be so good, and then take a turn for the worse--and vice versa. And it's amazing to see how your life can completely change in just a matter of weeks. I went from being at my lowest point, to currently feeling great. And it is awesome.
Zoie is finally potty trained. (((HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF))) She still has a few accidents when she is playing and doesn't want to stop, but for the most part she is telling me when she has to go. And when she has to go, we have to go NOW. She is getting so big and I am so proud of her. She never ceases to amaze me.

I have finally hung most of my pictures on my walls in my house. It is starting to feel "complete". The boy painted me a beautiful painting, and I hung it in my bedroom on my wall. It fits perfectly.

I did a little scrapbooking the other day of our trip to the zoo. I love the way it turned out. I ended up scrapping 19 pictures on a 2-page spread! I combined a bunch of different papers and I think it turned out great. I will post pics soon.

This weekend is going to be relaxing and laid-back. I don't have any major plans, but I am going to do some yardwork tonight and just enjoy being. I am going to turn up some music, clean house and enjoy my life. Even though things don't go according to plan, I am still alive and I have a beautiful daughter that is my world. Life is good...

4th of July

We went to the lake over the fourth. It was nice to get away and relax. We rode the seadoos, went fishing, layed out, went for boat rides and just had a great time.

My sister's boyfriend, Josh, got Zoie a fishing pole, so she had fun fishing (we didn't put the hook on there, but don't tell her that...) We caught quite a few fish, but Zoie got bored pretty quickly.

Friday night, we all went and ate at Pete's, a famous restaurant in Krebs. It was pretty good, but everyone HAD to order a entree and they were huge. We were so stuffed when we left we could barely walk. It was a good experience.

I went and bought some fireworks at the 2-for-1 stand, and of course when we were paying it started to rain. It slacked off a bit, so we lit some of them before the downpour came. We were supposed to ride in the boat over to the town of Eufaula's firework show, but it was raining too hard. It eased up enough that we thought we would try and catch the tail-end of the show, so we all jumped in the boat and headed around the cove. Dad said, "Do you hear that?" And not even a minute later, a downpour came and we were all soaked. We hurried back to the dock, but there wasn't an inch on us that was dry. We were supposed to have a bonfire afterwards and make s'mores, but we were rained out. I made them in the microwave instead. It was fun though.

When we got back, I took a couple of pics of Zoie on her swingset in her patriotic outfit. I liked how they turned out.

We are going back to the lake this weekend for the Whole Hawg Festival. I'm excited. It is a lot of fun.

Have a good week,

Cover Girl!

We went to the park a couple weeks ago, July 2nd to be exact, to feed the ducks. I had some moldy bread (shh!! don't tell anyone) and I told Zoie we could feed the duckies with it. So we drove over there and she was throwing slices of bread at the ducks... yes, slices. I had to instruct her that it would go farther if she broke it into pieces, where she then proceeded to pinch off tidbits of bread that you could barely see. Ahhh... kids.

So anyway, we were standing there with about a dozen ducks flocked around us to get a tasty treat, when a guy walks up and asks if he could take her picture for the paper. I said sure, why not. So he bent down and snapped a couple of pics before all of the ducks ran away.

I didn't think much of it and was at home last night when my mom called and said, "De'Ann just called and said Zoie was on the cover of the paper!" I said really?? So she went last night to the gas station and bought 3 copies. When I got to her house this morning to drop off Zoie, I glanced at the papers on the counter. Not only was she on the cover of the paper, but there, on the top half of the page, was a 5x7 shot of my baby girl! I couldn't believe it! I joked that they must not have had anything interesting happen that week. lol She made cover over the fireworks and everything else. I couldn't be more proud. :)

My New Phone

I got my new cell phone yesterday... and so far I really like it. It is a LG enV Touch.

It's kind of complicated and I haven't quite figured out how to use the touch screen and dial without opening the phone, but it is a lot better than my Razr. I got a new number and it feels great... I get to have a clean, fresh start and not have to worry about people contacting me that I don't want to hear from. :)

Can you hear me now? Great.
