My New Hobby...

So I found this amazing steal on Craig's List the other day, and I couldn't pass it up! This guy had 38 old, single, wooden window panes for sale. I had looked for some months ago, but antique stores try and sell ONE window for like $50! So I called him at 9:30 pm Sunday night and picked them up Monday after work!

I am going to make window art! I am kind of excited about it. I have a bunch of windows that still have the glass entact, approximately 25 I think. The rest are broken or are just the frames, which would be perfect for making old wooden window picture frames. :)

So I will be taking orders if anyone is interested. I have already printed off a few pics from the internet with ideas of images I want to paint on them (dandelion, chandelier, etc.) Just let me know if you'd like one!

Lindsay

Sick Lil' BeBe'

It was a long weekend at our house. Zoie started running a high fever and had a really congested cough Thursday night, and I ended up staying home with her on Friday. Two kids in her class were sent home and come to find out had RSV, so I assumed that was what Z had too. We stayed in all weekend and I gave her lots of fluids and watched her temp (per the doctor's orders). We watched some movies and did puzzles and played some. The poor baby coughed and coughed and coughed all night long, for the past 4 nights to be exact. So needless to say I am lacking some much needed R&R. I was able to get a little house cleaning done, so that is a plus! I cleaned the bathroom and my vanity, and Shark Steam Mopped the kitchen, laundry room and restroom and vanity. I swept all the fuzz and dust bunnies up out of the living room, gathered all of the leaves that had blown in from my rose bush and swept them up as well (the suction from the door or something sure does bring those little rascals right into the house), and filed some papers. Stephen came over and we even cooked steaks on the ole' Foreman! I made some AUH-mazing guacamole yesterday, and even tried to re-make some perfect brownies. Last time I made them, I literally made my mom gag. Literally. I don't know what is wrong with my oven, but they were hard as a rock this time too, and I even cut the time by 5 minutes! (Note to self- pick up an oven thermometer next time you go to tar-ghey). It was a slow, boring weekend but I felt it was somewhat productive.

So I found these awesome old window panes on CL and I snatched them up fast. I am going to pick them up after work (with the help of my amazing grandpa, of course). I am going to start making wall art with them. Maybe a little hobby/business on the side. I bought one on CL awhile back, and it had a cute chandelier spray painted on it. I even bought my little sis one for Christmas. I could totally do something like that. So I am going to try it out and see what I can do. Wish me luck!

Well, that's about it. Don't really have much to post on. Hopefully I will have more to chat about later. Until then... have a great week. Stay warm! (We are supposed to get snow again on Thursday. Brr. I'm not a fan of cold weather!)

Hugs,
Lindsay

Welcome twenty ten...

So this is my first post of the new year, and I can not believe it is already 2010!! I have officially been out of high school for 10 years now. Wow, where does the time go?

This year, I have made some personal "resolutions" that I am hoping I can stick to. Have you made any goals for the new year? I'd love to hear them.

Here are a few of mine:

1. Scrapbook more. This seems to be a yearly goal, and I am hoping to at least get a layout done a week. Think I can do it?
2. Lose weight. I know I am not "fat", but I have packed on a few pounds the last few months that I'd love to get rid of.
3. Get fit. I bought a Wii, and The Biggest Loser on the Wii. Now I just have to find the motivation to use it!
4. Use more of my scrapbooking stash. No explanation needed there!
5. Be more "organized". I am a pretty organized person, until recently. I will have to share the story about my rodeo tickets later (and I have yet to find them...) I want to keep up with my filing, maybe making a few spreadsheets on my expenses to keep everything on track. We will see...
6. Spend more quality "family" time. Our family has started getting together on Sundays. The past two weeks we have gone bowling, which has been a lot of fun. Not to mention we have been getting free bowling passes in the mail, so we can't let them go to waste! I'd like to spend more time with the ones I love.
7. Have more patience. I seem to have a very short fuse, and I need to keep in mind that things are going to happen, and I can't let them get me all worked up. I need to be patient with Zoie, life, and work.
8. Enjoy Life. This includes watching more movies, doing activities, and just laughing. I never get to have quality time to myself. I want to make time for myself at least once a month so that I can unwind and just get my mind off of things that stress me out. (See number 7. lol)
9. Get Published, Win a Contest, or just get my creativity out there. I would love to be published in a scrapbooking magazine, or just win a contest. I would love to be recognized for all of the hard work that I put into my crafting.
10. Pay It Forward. I have been very blessed the past few years, and I want to pay it back. I have friends who have helped me by lending me clothes for Zoie to wear, family who watches and helps me with Zoie, and wonderful friends who support and love us. I want to give back to someone since we have been so blessed. I joined Jenn's Pay It Forward on her blog, and I am going to do the same this year. Here is how it works:

Sometime in the year 2010 (any random time throughout the year) I will send three people each a gift--easy as that. Leave a comment saying you would like to participate, and I will take the first three people that comment saying they will commit to playing. If you sign up, you must follow through and Pay It Forward to three people as well. That's it. Easy-peasy, huh.

I hope everyone has a very happy and blessed twenty-ten.

Love,
Lindsay
