Bob the Builder LIVE!

I really wanted to win tickets to see Bob the Builder LIVE! at the Civic Center for Zoie. They were giving them away on the radio and I had tried to get through on Monday, but didn't have any luck. I tried again on Tuesday, and I was caller 8... you had to be 10. So Wednesday morning I was feeling really lucky. Literally. I just knew deep down that I was going to be caller 10 and have a chance to play.

So I listened at 7:50 am for them to play "Last Fan Standing" where they have two players and ask them each 2 questions and whoever gets the most right wins. They normally announce the cue to call in, then play the theme music and then announce the weather and traffic. Well I never heard the cue and the music started, so I called anyway. It was ringing. He answered the phone and I said, "Are you taking callers to play Last Fan Standing?" He was like, "Sure. Hold on for a sec."

I was in. I got through and was going to get to play! I had played once before and won a huge prize package with tickets to an indoor football game, Dog show and a $25 gift card. We didn't make to the dog show, and I gave the gift card to our housekeeper at work who is a single mom to two kids. So I was stoked I was going to be playing, and better yet for the tickets to see Bob the Builder!

They started the game shortly and the questions were about Reality TV. I don't watch much TV, but I must confess I do like Reality shows.

I went first and they asked me what show was hosted by Julie Chen. That was easy.... Big Brother. Even though I never really watched it, I still saw the commercials and knew the answer.

The other players question was what show was hosted by Tom Burgeron. I knew it! She didn't get it in 3 seconds, so I answered for her... Dancing with the Stars!

My question was next and it was a toughie. What show did Heidi Klum host. I didn't know. I knew it was Runway something, so I guessed Runway Model. I got it wrong. It was Project Runway. So we were tied.

Her last question was what show was hosted by Chris Harrison. I knew it!! I was biting my lip praying she wouldn't get it right. After all, he was from Oklahoma and used to be a news anchor. They counted down... 3... 2... 1. BEEP! She didn't get it. I shouted, "The Bachelor!!!" (Plus it helped that I had watched it that week too.)

So I had won. They asked if I wanted to be greedy and come back tomorrow to risk losing my tickets for the chance to win more prizes. I said, "No way. I have a 2 1/2 year old and I am taking my tickets and running!"

I was so super excited. I didn't really know much about Bob the Builder, honestly, but I knew Zoie would love it.

It was February 17th at 6:30 pm at the Civic Center in downtown Oklahoma City. We got there and found our seats, which I thought wouldn't be very good, but turned out to be really great. We were on the back row of our section, but were up high enough we could see perfectly. I bought Zoie this lighted Windmill of Bob the Builder (I felt robbed... they were $25 bucks a piece. However, I didn't have to pay for our 4 tickets, so I justified it.)

The show started and it was pretty cheesy, I must admit. Dad even fell asleep. lol But Zoie liked it and they had crowd participation where the kids could yell out, so that helped a little. It ended up being a great evening, and I was so happy I could give that experience to Zoie.

Secret Admirer?

I had a shocking surprise today at work. A lady walked in with a beautiful vase of a dozen red roses. I immediately thought, "Oh, how sweet... Andrea's boyfriend (Andrea is my boss) bought her flowers."

Well to my surprise, she said, "Lindsay?" I was like, ME?

Sure enough, the card was addressed to me, and the message inside simply said:

Happy Valentine's Day!

No signature. No return address. Nothing.

I have no clue who they are from. Andrea and I even called up to the flower shop to find out, but they couldn't tell me.

So now I am sitting here stumped as to who would send me roses. I wish I knew because I would probably be interested. :)

Just thought I'd share. I'm going to get back to playing the guessing game.

Have a great day,
